About the Thomas Bunn House B&B

The moment you drive up our tree-sheltered lane, you start to relax. You would never believe that you are just minutes from Selkirk and 45 minutes from downtown Winnipeg.

The Thomas Bunn House Bed and Breakfast is run by Bev and Fraser Stewart. It’s located at 103 Bunns Road in St. Clements, Manitoba on the shores of the Red River.

As of November 2017, guests can stay in the heritage Bunn House (1862). We originally ran our bed and breakfast under the name, the “Fidler House” and had two houses: the Fidler House and the Thomas Bunn House. We have retired the Fidler House for now, but were so happy to have run a successful bed and breakfast in that house for so long! Thank you to everyone who has stayed in the original Fidler House – we hope you will like the Thomas Bunn House just as much.

Unlike traditional bed and breakfasts, we run a self-catered B&B – that means that we provide the breakfast food in our fully-equipped kitchen. You also have the entire house to yourself for the duration of your stay.

We offer unique experiences here at the Thomas Bunn House B&B, including:

  • Fishing experience: we are located on the banks of the Red River and have a dock you can use. Launch facilities are located nearby. We are also partnered with an outfitter for those who are interested in guided trips. Visit his website for more details.
  • Heritage experience: the historic Thomas Bunn House dates back to 1862 and was first owned by Thomas Bunn, a member of Louis Riel’s council. We can provide information on tour packages for the numerous local historic sites.
  • Local trails: we can provide information about hiking, cycling, and snowmobile trails on the river, and about canoeing and watercraft locations. There is a 4.5km walking trail on the property which crosses a creek and beneath beautiful oak trees and other fauna where wildlife may be spotted.

Whether it’s a weekend getaway, a family gathering or a fishing trip, the Thomas Bunn House Bed and Breakfast offers a unique experience.
